The London Open 2020 , and all Events therein, will be held under the UKBGF rules.
Legal moves only and Premature Rolls stand.
Clock Mandatory is applied in the Masters event, Speedgammon & Superjackpot events only.
If neither player has access a clock please request one from the Tournament Directors.
At the total discretion of the Tournament Director(s), there retains the right to impose a clock, either from the outset, or part-way through any match, which is threatening to delay the tournament.
Clock Settings will be 90 seconds per point & 12 secs per move. (Rounded up to the nearest minute if your clock doesn't have 30 second settings. (Speedgammon settings to be confirmed.)
Baffle boxes are optional - If one player wishes to use their Baffle box, this is fine, however their opponent need not.
Any breach of the rules for starting times and breaks may result in penalty points. If a player is not present when the round is called by the TD, and has not started the match within a 5 minute period.
It is a long weekend , however, there is permitted only one 5 minute break in any one match and, as above, the same point deduction for every 5 minute thereafter will apply if a player extends beyond this time limit. (As is always the case , TD has total discretion on this ruling, especially in the event of mitigating or exceptional circumstances.)
After the starting time, or after the end of the permitted break, one penalty point may be awarded. A further penalty point may be awarded for each subsequent 5 minute delay. When a player has been awarded penalty points corresponding to more than half of the length of the match, such player shall be deemed to have won the match.
Throughout the weekend, If any additional rulings are required then these will be handled by the Tournament Director(s) and, at their discretion, selected experienced players at the tournament.
** Please accept , in the spirit of all that is good in backgammon, ultimately any decision throughout the entire tournament, if required to be made, is at the absolute discretion of the Tournament Directors - and will be made in total good faith and honesty - this is full & final. **
